Terms of Service

The agreement between you and CaIoT Inc for using CaIoT RemoteViewer, its companion apps and this website.

Last updated October 21, 2026

Agreement

By downloading, installing or using CaIoT RemoteViewer, CaIoT Companion or CaIoT CamViewer (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms and to our Acceptable Use Policy. If you use the Service for an organization, you confirm you can accept these Terms on its behalf.

Permission is required

You may only access a device, screen or camera that you own or that its owner has clearly authorized you to access. You are responsible for getting and recording that permission, and for complying with privacy and recording laws where you and the device are located.

Your account

Remote services need an account. Keep your sign-in details and session codes private, and tell us promptly at [email protected] if you think your account has been misused.

Free and paid features

Core local tools are free after setup. Free accounts include 250 remote session minutes per month. Remote Android, Remote Desktop and Remote Camera Access are paid subscriptions that include a monthly allowance of remote session minutes, as listed on our Pricing page, billed monthly or annually in Canadian dollars plus applicable taxes. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled; annual plans are charged in full at the start of each yearly term. You can cancel at any time and keep access until the end of the period you paid for. See our Refund Policy. Preview device reports free. Your first successful payment for the $10 CAD/month ($100/year) or $15 CAD/month ($150/year) plan unlocks report downloads permanently on the same CaIoT account, even after cancellation. Free and the $5 CAD plan do not qualify. No separate report fee or bonus-minute credit.

Remote minutes and sessions

Connected internet time uses the sharing account’s minutes, not the viewer’s. Waiting for a viewer does not count. Time is metered in whole minutes; the final partial minute rounds up when the session ends. Local USB and same-network sessions do not use remote minutes. Included minutes reset on the first day of each calendar month at 00:00 UTC, including on annual plans. Unused included minutes do not roll over. Administrator-added credits carry forward until used. The remote session ends when the balance is exhausted. New internet sessions need available minutes. Core local tools keep working, with no automatic overage charges. One remote session can be active at a time per sharing account.

Price changes

We may change prices for future billing periods. We will tell you at least 30 days before a price change affects your subscription, and you can cancel before it takes effect.

Third-party services

Google provides authentication and demo booking; Stripe processes payments. Their services are governed by their own terms. Public broadcasting integrations are not included in this release.

Licence and ownership

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service under these Terms. CaIoT keeps all rights in the software, brand and content. Don’t copy, resell, reverse engineer or build a competing product from the Service, except where the law allows it.

Availability

We work to keep remote services reliable, but they depend on the internet and third-party infrastructure. We may change, suspend or discontinue features, and will give reasonable notice of material changes to paid features.

Disclaimer

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Always keep your own backups.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, CaIoT is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost data, profits or business. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or CAD $50 if you have not paid us. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be waived.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or end access if you breach these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, or to protect people or the Service. You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, and the courts there have jurisdiction, unless your local consumer law gives you the right to bring claims where you live.

Changes

We may update these Terms. If a change is significant we will notify account holders before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the updated Terms.

Our role as a platform

CaIoT Inc provides software and connection infrastructure, not the advice, instructions, content or services supplied by users to one another. CaIoT is not a party to your repair, support, employment, rental or other arrangements with another user, and does not endorse that user or guarantee their identity, authority, competence or results. This does not remove CaIoT’s obligations for its own Service or personal information under its control.

Your responsibilities and risk

You are responsible for your actions and instructions, the devices and accounts you connect, content you share or record, permissions, notices and lawful consent, and compliance with applicable privacy, surveillance, intellectual-property and other laws. Obtain permission from everyone whose rights require it, not just the device owner. Limit access to what is necessary; protect passwords, session codes and backups; verify a helper’s identity; and end access when permission ends. You retain rights in your content and authorize only processing necessary to provide the Service, subject to the Privacy Policy. Never send payment or disclose credentials merely because a remote helper requests it.

Not for safety-critical reliance

The Service is not designed for emergency response, medical decisions, life-support systems or other uses where failure could cause death, injury or serious damage. Remote availability, recordings and inspection reports are not guarantees, professional advice, an alarm service or certification of device condition or original parts. Maintain independent backups and safeguards. You decide whether a particular use is appropriate; mandatory legal rights and CaIoT’s non-excludable duties still apply.

Business-user indemnity

If you use the Service for a business, to the extent permitted by law, you will indemnify CaIoT Inc and its officers and employees against third-party claims, reasonable legal costs and damages caused by your unlawful use, content, infringement of others’ rights or material breach of these Terms. This does not cover losses to the extent caused by CaIoT’s own breach, negligence, wilful misconduct or other liability that cannot lawfully be shifted. CaIoT must give prompt notice, allow reasonable participation in the defence and not agree to a settlement imposing obligations on you without your consent, not unreasonably withheld. This clause does not impose a general indemnity on consumers.

Rights that cannot be excluded

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits rights, warranties, remedies or liabilities that applicable law does not allow us to exclude or limit, including mandatory consumer and privacy rights and liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury where such liability cannot lawfully be excluded. The warranty exclusions and liability cap apply only to the extent lawful. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law. Third-party and open-source components retain their own licence terms; these Terms do not remove rights granted by those licences.
