Helping someone who is not comfortable with technology — illustrated guide
THE SHORT VERSION

Keep remote help human: explain one step at a time, agree on the goal and let the owner stay involved.

STEP 01

Connect with the owner

Use Remote Android Access when the phone, tablet or Android TV is somewhere else. Agree on what needs fixing, have the owner keep the required app available and approve the session.

STEP 02

Work on one problem at a time

Ask the owner to show the issue first. Explain each action before changing settings, and let them enter passwords privately rather than asking them to read credentials aloud.

Keep the owner in control

Agree on the task, explain changes before making them and end sharing when the work is done.

STEP 03

Check the result together

Repeat the action that originally failed. Confirm the owner can use the device again, then end sharing rather than leaving the session running.

PUT IT INTO PRACTICE

Start with one small task.

Download CaIoT RemoteViewer for the local Android toolkit, or book a demo to walk through the remote service that fits your situation. Check device compatibility and the current plan details before you begin.
